    hi,

I've heard quite a bit and would like to get a good handle on the issue.

Obviously, the Travans are not working as expected. What does the
issue appear to be/resemble? Does it appear that the hardware does
not work or faulty? Or does it appear to be that the driver/config doesn't
go far enough unlike the other brands?

I've used Travans a couple of times and have actually recovered from a
full backup on SBS4.5 and SBS2k (different Travans). Sure it wasn't a
OBDR and lots of things to config afterwards. Recently I had some
problems 'transfering data files' from one server to another via Travan and
it make me sit up. I suppose, tapes are not meant for doing this but then
shouldn't it work since in a DR situation, one would build another server
and with only a similar tape drive?
