Re: Service hung on starting

OK, I have NO IDEA what is going on anymore. I am sure the
overloards are just messing with my head ;-)

I disabled the on-board NIC, cleared all entries from the
event logs and shut off the server, waited a bit and turned
it back on. Left to get something to eat, so the computer
was sitting at the "Sign On" screen for a good half-hour.
When I did sign into it, everything started up properly -
no services "hung on starting".

I shut down the computer again and re-started, and again,
all is OK.

Now, I have to try and break it again by installing ISA
2000 Service Pack 2.

If the solution to this is that I have to let the server
sit for 4 hours after the installation then I guess I can
live with it, but that is not what I would expect.

I'll let you all know what happens.
