I use Macromedia Contribute 2 (in combination with
Macromedia Dreamweaver MX) to manage the content of a
number of my clients websites held on external web servers.

All worked fine before I installed a SBS 2003 network. Now
when I try to use it the connection process fails.

MM Contribute uses a connection wizard to configure a
connection to an external hosted website. First you browse
for the URL of the site to be managed. This part works
fine. Then you enter your connection information. In my
case the connections are via FTP with a simple username
and password. The web servers are supplied by a hosting
company and I believe they are Linux boxes. The FTP
account information also seems to work. Next you
select "choose" the directory on the remote server that is
the root directory of the website. This also seems to work
as I can navigate the remote FTP account directory tree to
select the appropriate directory ("public_html"). The
final stage Contribute then validates these connection
details. It is this stage that fails with an error message
to the effect that it can't connect to the website.

I've tried adding a Protocol Rule that "allows
all/all/all" as describe in the Microsoft Knowledge Base
Article - 295667. This had no effect on the problem.

Any help gratefully received.

Mark W.
