Hi, a couple of information for you.

There is update in SBS 2k3 that to disable the firewall service after SP2 installed; however, in SBS 2000, we do not have a group policy
in SBS that will disable the Windows Firewall, so there is no hotfix for that.

I believe to implement this in Group Policy, you will need to do this first:

307900 Upgrading Windows 2000 Group Policy for Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=307900

Then may be able to do this:

Local Computer Policy/Computer Configuration/AdministrativeTemplates/Network/Network Connections On the right hand side, you will
see "Prohibit use of Internet Connection Firewall on your DNS Domain"

1. To see this under Windows XP, click on Start/Run and type in "mmc".
2. Click "OK". On the file menu, select "Add/Remove Snap-In"
3. In the "Add/Remove Snap-in Window, click on "Add" Select "Group Policy" and select "Add".
4. For "Select Group Policy object" click on Finish Click on "Close' and then click on OK
5. Find the setting as indicated above:
a. Local Computer Policy/Computer Configuration/AdministrativeTemplates/Network/Network Connections
b. On the right hand side, you will see "Prohibit use of Internet Connection Firewall on your DNS Domain"

Hope that information helps.

| Will do. I tested RC2 on a cloned production PC and all was fine.
| Since Tuesday, I have had it working on mine and the LAN admins and the only
| issue so far has been the Outlook problem (more just a pest really).
| We probably will go with a slow roll out next week.
|
| Thanks
