shouldn't matter. Might. Better to try one change at a time but a copy and
resize under ghost doesn't normally blow W2Kx away.

Conclusions? I haven't reached any, pure postulation at this point.

OK, so if we can we want to avoid converting it.

This shouldn't be a big deal. The array controller will present the OS with
a list of drives which the OS should accept as d0, d1 etc... as it sees
them, the names of the drives in the array shouldn't impact this. With your
18's in place they should be d0, when you remove them and try to boot off
the RAID5 the OS should see it as d0.

I haven't used that particular RAID card but you may need to both disconnect
the drives (18s) and then tell the card to remove the array, else it may
present the unavailable drive to windows. CAREFUL, if you need to return the
18s you _should_ be able to read their RAID config off the disks, but I
don't know that RAID card.

This shouldn't matter. If you convert to dynamic you'll break the diagnostic
partition.

you may have to. You may even be best served ghosting to the new array,
disconnect all drives, clear controller config, then reconnect the RAID5
drives and read the config off them. BUT, tread carefully before you follow
this advice, I don't know that RAID card.
