"Close Program" Problem?

Hi all!

Server -> SBS 2000, with all the updates
Client -> Windows 2000 Professional SP 4, with all the updates.

>From times to times ( in the same day ), a user gets this message:
( the message the user gets is in Portuguese, so I'll try to translate it correctly )

Closing Program - ......
This program is not responding.
..... Click End Now or Cancel .... bla bla ...

This had happened in, at least, 2 situations:
1] in Word, after a while
2] Sometimes on a folder that is on the server, clicking on some folder

I've cheked for ad-ware, spyware, ... and it seems to be ok ( there were killed some processes ).
I've checked for virus, and it seems ok.
I've created a large virtual memory file.

I noticed that this computer "goes" to the disk a lot.

Any ideas / suggestions are very appreciated.
