Small Business Server and our Computer Supplier

Hi

We have a Small Business Server and have been
experiencing difficulties when removing the back up
tape. The server has to be turned off before the tape
can be removed. Our IT company have installed for a
trial period software which has corrected the problem but
they are now wanting to charge us £315. + VAT for it.
Surely the Server should work without having to pay
extra. The software is 'Veritas Backup software and
media kit, Backup exec windows, small service premier
v9.1, license open license level B. VIP competitive
upgrade'. I'm sorry I'm not very technically minded, but
surely if the server was working and the back up tape was
coming out, then the server should be repaired (its only
about a year old) and not have us pay approx £370. on top
of the original price.

Please help, our manager is off on long term sick leave
and I have to make a decision about whether to buy this
software very soon. We are a small company and can't
justify spending the money
