vpn client on your remote pc is expecting user name, password and domain.
not expecting fqdn IE domain/user-name.

i had a similar issue on a two nic sbs box and a dlink dsl-500 router. turns
out the router wouldnt do pptp passthrough even though the manufacturer said
it would and i had installed latest router firmware.

i replace the router with a snapgear lite and it worked.
