You mentioned a Hub. I would think getting a Switch might improve
performance. Are your cards 100Mbps or 10mbps?

If you have a switch, is it managed or unmanaged?

Your collision rate might be pretty high.

Here is one of my setups where a cable line in involved,

1. ISP Line connected to WAN port on external router
2. External Router, via LAN port, connected to the switch
3. SBS2K, both NICS, connected to the same switch
4. All PCS connected to the same switch

Don't have the sbs2k server connected to the LAN port of the router. Server
is connected to the switch like a PC on the lan.
