I SO hope this isn't really SBS4.0, the upgrade to 4.5 was free and if it is
indeed 4.0 I don't think it's actually possible to apply some recent
security patches.
When 4.x was current I would have gone with two NICs and put up with those
programs not working which can't operate through MSProxy. Since then routers
with true firewall capabilities have crashed in price and I'll suggest you
would be better off using something like a WatchGuard Firebox and a single
NIC setup. NOTE: I'm referring to a AU$2500 true firewall, not an AU$100 NAT
router.
re POP, it depends what you are asking. The SBS 'pop connector for exchange'
can pick up pop mail and pull it into the user mailboxes. Exchange can also
act as a pop server.
