Re: Store.exe crashing

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

Hi:

Assuming this is SBS 2003, you will get more "eyes" and therefore potentially more help in the SBS 2003 group.

microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs

Regarding your issue, please check that your AV program is not running a file level can on the files and folders that hold the store.

If that looks good, post to the 2003 group, and include that you checked the AV.

Also, download, run and then fix what ever the SBS BPA finds:

Store.exe keeps crashing. The Application log shows the following error:
Event Source: Microsoft Exchange Server
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1000
Date: 8/14/2008
Time: 9:58:24 PM
User: N/A
Computer: Server
Description:
Faulting application store.exe, version 6.5.7653.38, stamp 484e994d, faulting module store.exe, version 6.5.7653.38, stamp 484e994d, debug? 0, fault address 0x000bef1c.

I have run an offline defrag and an offline integrity check and everything checks out fine. The Private database is just over 1Gb. The Public database is 18Mb. I am running SP2. The sizes are well below the limits.

For right now I have the Information Store service setup to restart on failure. It will run fine for awhile and then crash again. What are my options? Did something go wrong with the SP2 upgrade...(That was done over a year ago) and it is just coming to light now? Is there something wrong with the size registry entries? Should I exmerge out all the email and wipe out the current database create a new one and then merge it back in? Or is there a simple explanation?

TIA

Thomas
