Re: SBS blocked attachments

I routinely rename .exe files to .e_x_e and likewise .zip files to .z_i_p

The reason is that you only have control of your Exchange server, and not the remote mail server that may also block such attachments.

I am running Exchange on SBS 2003. I need to allow certain attachments
through the post office, such as exe and zip. I've run the CEICW many times,
adjusting the attachment blocking dialog window, but still these types of
attachments are blocked, even if all blocking is turned off. The sender and
recepient both receive e-mails from the postmaster. The recepient gets a
"attachment type policy violation" notice. Since they are from the postmaster
I assume it isn't an antivirus issue (and I've checked that configuration
too) but a post office rule.

What am I doing wrong? TIA
