Are you in fact installing SBS Shared Fax or Windows Fax?
SBS shared fax facility can be installed from Add/Remove, SBS, in similar
manner to each of the SBS components. Windows Fax would be, add/remove,
windows components, Fax Service. SBS Shared Fax uses Windows Fax Service but
you must install from the SBS components collection, not just the windows
portion.
BTW
You might get more responses in the SBS 2003 group.
SBS public Newsgroups:
SBS 4.x: microsoft.public.backoffice.smallbiz
SBS 2000: microsoft.public.backoffice.smallbiz2000
SBS 2003: microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs
if your current news server does not carry the mentioned groups you should
be able to connect directly to news.microsoft.com

I am running SBS 2003 R2 all the latest updates installed.
dual 3ghz xeon gig ram
I installed a 4port fax card, the drivers installed correctly, the system
shows the devices correctly
I have installed the Fax services, in the add remove section. and the fax
service is running.
when i go to the configure fax wizard it says the fax service is not
installed. I removed the service and re-installed it, with no errors but
still the same response.
how do i resove this.
