You may get more response in the SBS 2003 Newsgroup.

SBS 4.x: microsoft.public.backoffice.smallbiz
SBS 2000: microsoft.public.backoffice.smallbiz2000

if your current news server does not carry the mentioned groups you should
be able to connect directly to news.microsoft.com

Since the day we installed Windows SBS STD 2003 R2 we have not been able
to
configure the fax program to route faxes via email. (It will receive and
send.)

Extensive searches on the web and through MS support appears to show this
is
not an uncommon problem but no one (Microsoft in particular) appears to
have
a solution which worked. Talking about server 2003 not 2000.

By now we've probably compounded the problem by trying every
"hair-brained"
scheme found on the WWW and the scarce MS support docs. Including renaming
and allowing a new mapi32.dll file to be installed. Currently the
mapi32.dll
is ver. 6.5.7226.0, mapi32.exe is 6.5.6944.0.

At one point, using Outlook Express, we were able to manually forward
faxes
by email but never automatically. Since installing Outlook exchange, we've
not been able to get past the "Mail system dll is invalid" error.

I have set up an email address for the fax in exchange server. (I can send
and receive emails via Outlook) However, when I try to manual send a fax
by
email I get the error message.
