nothing to apologise for, just wanted to steer you to the right group.

Sorry about that (in setting up the new server I had to rejoin all the
pc's & in the process lost the Newsreader settings!!)

head on over to the SBS 2003 group

SBS public Newsgroups:

SBS 4.x: microsoft.public.backoffice.smallbiz
SBS 2000: microsoft.public.backoffice.smallbiz2000
SBS 2003: microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs

I _think_ you need to run the CEICW, but head there anyway.

Can anyone assist? I have installed SBS 2003 R2 Premium which has ISA
Server 2004. Uses a dual NIC to ASL Router set up.
Internet access & VPN work fine with the wizards.
However although smtp outgoing mail works (& I can see the Rules in the
ISA Config), I am using the POP3 connector for incoming mail and that
does not work. There was an error message for the MMC Snap in but this
was resolved by a downloaded patch.
I have checked the mail server connection to the isp & it works from a
separate pc, so I am sure there are missing rules required for the ISA
Server which must in some way be blocking the pop3 downloads. Has
anyone come accross this?

Could someone who also uses the pop3 connector on SBS 2003 R2 Prem
perhaps post a list of the Rules appearing in their ISA server for
comparison.

Likewise I am unable to get access to NG's over the ISA server
connection so suspect it is nailed down tight as a starting point!

Both worked fine with the previous server that ran SBS2000 with ISA
2000!!!

Thanks
