"failed" backup - not really failed at all

Hi, and thanks for reading my post.

I am using the Backup facility in the Server Management tool in Small
Business Server '03 to make a backup to another hard drive. This particular
backup process has worked for some time, but is now "failing". I put failing
in quotes because the backup seems to actually be fine (we can restore from
it). It is just reporting "failed" apparently because a part of the Registry
cannot be unloaded in a timely manner.

Interestingly, this behavior has existed at another client from the
beginning of their server deployment. My attempts top resolve that matter in
these newsgroups have not been successful.

So, one more try. The sequence of messages reported in the System Event log
is:

* * * * begin System Event Log * * * *

Consult the backup report for more detail.

The backup reports "failed" in the Server Management / Backup interface,
even though the last message reports that the profile info was eventually
unloaded.

It is disconcerting to the client that the backup reports "failed".

Can we do something about his?

Thanks.
