I have a client with a SBS2003 server. The primary SATA drive hascrashed.
I have replaced the drive and reinstalled the OS and it is working fine.the
However, there is some data on the second (data) partition of the crashed
drive that they would like to recover. If I attach the failed drive as
Port2 SATA drive the computer tries (and fails) to boot to the faileddrive,
rather than the good Port1 drive. I have a licensed copy of GetDataBackNTFS
which I have used many times to recover data, but it requires that I getthe
computer to at least boot with the failed drive attached. If I can getthe
system to boot with the failed drive as a secondary drive, then I run atit
least a chance of recovery. Can anyone help me understand why the system
insists on booting to the Port2 drive, and can you suggest a way to force
to boot to the other drive instead? Thanks so much for any ideas.
