The event logs have the following:

12/8/06 04:12 PM (when he logged off on Friday): Event ID 1006 (Userenv)
"Windows cannot bind to local domain (invalid credentials)"
12/8/06 04:12 PM Event ID 1030 (Userenv) "Windows cannot query for the
list of group policy objects".

The same events occurred this morning when he logged in, as well as some
errors about not being able to start Microsoft Fax, because a valid fax
device could not be found. Probably because it couldn't connect to the
server to see the shared fax device there.

Also, the user was able to log on to another computer successfully and do
access network resoruces without having to enter his username and password
again, e.g. Internet Explorer.

The events logged showed his correct computer name as well as his
domain/username.

Logging in to the domain. That's what is so puzzling because that's the
first thing I thought of. The guy's not logging in properly so all
network resource accesses are requiring his credentials. But it's not
the case. I logged him off and back in again myself to make sure he's
doing it right. There is no indication of any problem during the logon
process either.

I even logged on to his computer with my credentials and had no problems
accessing network resources. Log back in as him and no soap.

Very strange.

Is he actually logging into the domain or is his workstation set to log
onto the local machine at the logon screen?

Here's one for you.

SBS 2003. XP Pro client. This one user cannot access his Exchange
account, the internet, or any other server resource, even after
logging on with his correct username and password.

When he opens Outlook, it asks for his username and password. When he
starts IE, it asks for his username and password. Open up Windows
Explorer and browse to the network and click on the server, if asks
for username and password. Once entered, that particular access works
fine.

One oddity is the username that pops up is not his 'domain/username'.
It's his yahoo.com email address.

I've checked the user account on the server and everything looks fine.
There are no strange problems installed on the client computer. No
processes running that are out of the ordinary, on the client. User
says he hasn't done anything or remembers something strange happening
(take that for what it's worth). I even searched the registry for his
yahoo.com email address, thinking maybe it's in a key somewhere for
some reason, but found nothing.

Any help and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm stumped.
