Re: SBS 2003 SP1 Transition Pack

TS on a domain controller is a security risk and is stupid.

I apologize for being mean.. but spending $3,000 just to enable TS in app mode on a DC is even more stupid.

Don't spend this amount of money when it's sooo not the right solution.

This is an insane recommendation when you can set up a member server and do TS access the right way.

Ok, I just wanted to verify that I am getting all of the right software
and licenses for this project.

Basically I have an SBS 2003 SP1 server that I need to upgrade to 2003
standard edition so I can run terminal services in application mode for
15 computers. Right now it just has the standard 5 CALs installed. By
everything I read, if I purchase the following, I can make this work
without having to reinstall the operating system, rebuilding the domain
and reinstalling the other 3rd party software:

1 MS 2003 SBS Transition Pack (T72-01413) (This is listed on
Microsoft's site as for R2, but the vendor told me it would work for
SP1 as well. Is this true?)

2 MS 2003 Device Client Access License 5-pack (This should bring us up
to 15 with the 5 CALs we have already)

15 MS 2003 Terminal Server Client Access License

Am I correct in thinking if I order this I will be able to upgrade my
SBS machine to full-fledged Windows 2003 without having to reformat and
will be able to run terminal services in application mode and support
15 computers?

Thanks in advance for the help!
