Why do some many people and vendors insist on uninstalling/reinstalling
server software so quickly to try to fix a problem? Dell is notorious for
telling someone, "Oh, you'll need to reformat and reload to fix that
problem".

I. Kinal, I'm not picking on you! I'm just thinking it would have been
helpful if you could have given us some of the entries in the event log or
the SBS log files to try to determine what happened with your fax server.
But by uninstalling the fax service, and then SBS itself, you've wiped out
that evidence. Have you eliminated the possibility that it may be a hardware
issue with your fax board?

Hi,

I am running SBS 2003 Premium Edition. I had the Fax Service on the server
working fine, but then it stopped working. I tried to reinstall the
component, but now it will not install. The error log contains the
following
line: Fax Services: [2] Fax failed to install.
I tried reinstalling SBS 2003 SP1, but that did not help.

Any suggestions are appreciated!
