I am trying to add and format a new hard disk to our existing SBS 2003
server. It is an 80GB IDE disk, and is connected (as master) via the same IDE
cable as our backup IDE drive (as slave). The backup IDE drive was previously
working well.
BIOS recognises both the drives, but SBS is not assigning drive numbers.
I have tried working through Disk Managament to get SBS to recognise both
drives.
I have a strong belief that the difficulties are due to the fact that the
new Disk is not yet formatted. Therefore I have 2 questions:
1. what is the easiest way to format the new drive? (just a basic NTFS
format will do); and
2. what is the next step to get SBS to recognise the drive?
Thankyou in anticipation of your help.
