Doing a clean build is quite an acceptable proposition on a small
network, less complicated and less to go wrong.
a) You'll need a means of storing and transferring Data - This can be
via space on a Workstation or Second/External HDD.
b) You'll Increase your Exchange usage in going from Exch > .pst >
Exchange but is probably not going to be a biggie (make certain you do
an exchange aware full backup and exch has cleaned up immediately before
you do exmerge out )
c) Because of the new SIDs the client machines will get new profiles
when re-connecting. With XP Clients you can automatically import the old
profiles, with others you'll have to manually import them ( Desktop
data/icons, Favourites, etc..... )
Watch that you take the client machines back to Workgroup and make sure
you clean out the primary DNS Suffix under the [More] Button.
