Just when I thought I had it solved!
Previously I found that decreasing the compression on the virtual web
server allowed for the proper display of the OWA screen on a client's PC.
(Please, see my previous two threads in this forum for the symptoms.) Since
he got home from the cottage, and started using his home PC, he found that
that previous fix, while it worked fine on the PC at his cottage, did not
resolve the same issue on his home PCs.
I have since found that, although the issue was resolved on my Toshiba
laptop, it did not resolve the issue on my desktop. I tried to install IE6
SP1 overtop of the current IE6 SP1 installation, in case some files need
updating, but Microsoft's "intelligent" installer won't let me. I guess
they figure they can tell from a single version file how well my
installation is working!
I am posting here in case Marino (who has been following this problem with
me) has any other suggestions. We talked about applying SP1 to the Exchange
2003 on this SBS server, but I want to know before I schedule some downtime
on this 24 X 6 business if there are actual fixes to this issue before I
spend the time to install it and accomplish nothing.
I will post a similar post in the IE6 forum, to see if anyone there can tell
me how to do a complete reinstall and update of the IE6 on an XP system.
Thanks.
