what did you have on this server to upgrade from??

Have you considered saving data and formatting and just letting the setup run cleanly??

  Also, the sbs2003 disk wont load setup, it gets stuck on installing
  component 25 of 40.
  PS a normal boot on the server takes 4 hours.
  Safe mode boot takes 10 minutes but can not load setup because IIS needs to
  be running !!!
  Catch 22 - where do I go.
