I wasn't touching security in anyway with this thing. It is a standalone database that does nothing but send about 50 reports out every morning. No need for security. I have no idea why it started complaining. Maybe something just got corrupted. Anyway, it is working for now. I just wish I knew how to fix it the right way. Where do you go to findout where a particular database is expecting to find that file? I chave copied the one which works when specified on the command line to just about everywhere I can think of, including system32, no joy.

Access ALWAYS uses a workgroup file. And if there isn't one where it expects it to be (usually C:\WINDOWS\system32\), Access will create one..
It sounds as though you might have been playing with security, and messed up the default one.
