In XP, what about “Use Simple file sharing (Recommended)? Open “My Computer”,
in the menu, “Tools” – “Folder Options” – “View Tab”. In the Advanced
Settings list, scroll down to “Use Simple file sharing” check box.

I currently migrate some W2k to XP professional PC, and when I try to access
the db using access runtime. It only allows me to open one PC at a time, and
this problem never happen to me when I running from a W2k PC, we are
currently using the Access Runtime 2000. All the computer have full admin
right and full access to the share folder. To make thing more interestingly,
when I move the database to the windows 2000/2003 server, this problem go
away, but if I just put it on a P2P PC such as XP or 2K, snap server, then
this problem occurs again, I just couldn't figure out why I can not open the
db with two PC the same time.
