Re: Access 2003 work with Vista

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Thanks Doug. I've tried a couple of versions, the Pro
Enterprise Edition, and the Pro Edition, I uninstalled and
re-installed and all that stuff. Someone mentioned to
install Access by itself, I will try that. When I open it,
No matter what I do I get "An error has occurred and this
feature is no longer functioning properly; would you like
to repair this feature now? " If I check Yes, it goes
through the process, comes up and says it is repairing,
finishes then just loops back and puts the error up again.

If I take no, It manages to come up with another error
"3228" a collating problem. I found a fix for that, by
getting into the registry and editing the collating sequence
value, however it appeared to be what it should have been
"Ascii ", but it made no difference. I did notice however
an entry that was the (Default) which contained
no values. I set that to "Ascii " and of course that didn't
work. My next attempt will be to save the Registry, remove
that default sequence default entry and see what happens.
Messing with the Registry, makes me nervous. Do you have any
suggestions?

Thanks for your response

Should or will Access 2003 work under Vista home premium?
