Re: Can't open outlook - don't understand KB answer

suggest you post your questions to an Outlook newsgroup. this newsgroup
answers questions about setup and configuration of MS Access relational
database software.

After a blue screen crash, I now get the following error message in
Outlook:
"Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Unable to open Outlook windows.
The
set of folders could not be opened. The server is not available...."

I believe the answer is in the knowledge base at
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822503/en-us, however, I have a problem
with
this answer. It refers to the Custom Installation Wizard to edit MST
files
(OK. I guess this means I have to try fix Outlook from a reinstall?) Then
it
refers to Change Office User Settings page (page 10 of 24). Huh? Do I
have
to go through the first nine screens of the reinstall before I get here?
My
outlook folders are NOT in the default directory -- I save them off to a
separate data disk. I assume that's why outlook won't open. Please help.
