I hope you've figured it out by now, but here is how I fix the same problem.
It was done through experimentation, so there might be a better way.
Open registry (Start>Run>regedit)
scroll to top of screen on left panel. Select 'My Computer' (Edit>Find)
Enter you program name. The registry will be searched. Keep looking until
a long string of characters resembling installation key codes. There will be
several
all together on the left of the screen. You should see your program name in
the right panel. The left panel doesn't highlight to show which code is being
displayed.
Move your cursor onto the left panel on the top key code. Watch the right
panel for your program as you scroll down one line at a time on the left.
When your program is displayed, delete that registry key. The runtime is in
the registry also but I have never found it necessary to delete for the
reinstallation to work. After the delete, install as normal. Optionally you
can physically remove your old program from the hard drive prior to reinstall.
Hope this helps, I'm not in front of my computer that I do this on,
otherwise I would give you the exact registry spot.
