Re: Why is Access broken?

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Use Start, Search and search for *.mdw (include system and hidden folders). Rename any file that you find.

Try opening your mdb files now, you should get in with no prompt.

I have Access 2007 installed and recently tried to open an mdb that I have
used before. Access asked me to "Logon". Now, I do not use security on any of
my databases as they all are local to my computer, so I never set up an Admin
password or set user level security on the files.

I tried to create a new db and as soon as the file was created and Access
should have gone to design, I was prompted to Logon. Whatever I enter I get
"Not a valid username or passowrd". I have very important data for me saved
in those files and I would really like to get at it. Why is Access broken?
