But it's the create permission that is needed. This is so the users can create the associated ldb file. If the first person in doesn't have create permission, they will open the mdb exclusively.

Both of these users have RW permissions on that directory
and all the files in it.
I'm looking into the server's security setup, but there has
been a sudden surge of work here, so it may be a few days
before I make any headway. Plus, I'm not a network
engineer, so headway doesn't come easy. I'll probably be
back with better info and more questions next week.
