Help!!! Erased all permissions, what do I do?

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Hi everybody,

In the process of trying to limit access to certain folder on my
external hard drive, I

1) turned off simple sharing
2) selected the folders and went to security, and I think I got a
message saying "Permissions will be reset"
3) Now, when I double click on the folder or try to change the
permissions to allow access (I've tried both myself and the user
group), I get "Access Denied" or "You do not have permission to view
the current permission settings for Books, but you can make permissions
changes."

I'm positive that I'm logged in as an administrator, yet I still can't
do anything. Any help would be highly appreciated!

Cheers

Tim
