Hi Joan. I also fubarred my secure database.
Here is what I did, and what I have done so far.
First I moved the folder my database was in.
Then I deleted the shortcut on my desktop
Then I emptied my recycle bin (gone for good!)
Then I tried to open the database .mdw file straight from the folder it is
stored in.
*panic*
Then started fooling around with the security settings and passwords etc etc.
I arrived at a point where I was no longer even being asked for my user/pwd.
and almost started to cry.
----------------------------------------------
Then came to this post, fixed the admin with no pwd problem, and now I'm
back to being asked for my password again, but I get the error " you don't
have the neccessary permissions blah blah blah".
From your posts above, I think it's a 'workgroup' problem, i deleted myoriginal shortcut that the wizard made for me. Am I screwed for good?
Can I make a short cut?
I'm frantic.

I am having the same problem that was described in this discussion.
However, the solution is not working for me. I have lost the ability
to login and cannot open any of my secured databases.
I am the administrator, creator and as of now sole user of a set of
secure Access databases. When I try to open a database I receive a
message saying that I don't have the necessary permission. Every
once and while the login box does pop up (I can't figutre out why)
but my login infor is not recognized. Please help! Thank you.
You are getting that message because you are not using the correct workgroup
file to open the mdb.
I assume you know the workgroup (mdw) file that was used to secure your
databases. Create a desktop shortcut to open them. Put the following in
the target of the shortcut:
"path to msaccess.exe" "path to secure.mdb" /wrkgrp "path to secure.mdw"
Launch your mdb via this shortcut.
If your login info is not recognized, check that your capslock key is set
correctly as the password is case sensitive. Also, your password may be
blank. Try logging in with your username and blank password.
