Hi, Linda.

key?

No. But you could find out if the startup code runs or not. Have the
startup code create a new record, edit a current record, or set a global
variable whenever the database opens. Then later check whether the record
was created/edited or the global variable was set. If not, the startup was
bypassed by using the shift key, the database was opened programmatically,
or an error prevented the startup code from running.

HTH.
