:~) George, I came in only after Larry because I couldn't
be bothered writing the full text of the message which he
very generously has done.
But what he said is still true: we can't help you if you
don't describe the problem.

Thank you. That is a start. I have done more searching for other posts and
find the delay I'm experiencing trying to move, reformat, and change
objects
when designing reports in Access 2003 is a common problem. I have started
with with your suggestion, it didn't make a difference. I've changed the
default printer to my printer, still no difference
Other suggestions would be appreciated.

:~) Yes it is!
First check that the 'Name Auto Correct' option is turned off, (and
compact the database afterwards). If it is not that, then...

In every newsreader I have ever seen, there's this large white space
below
the Subject line, and that's where your question should go... some
newsreaders do truncate Subject lines that are "too long" so some may
not
even know what you are asking. <SIGH>
The only time I have had a similar problem was back in Access 2.0. I
was
trying to prototype a documentation system, which was to have reports
that
"re-created Government documents", so I imbedded a scanned copy of the
document and then tried to add the text boxes to fill it in.
I had put the text boxes on before imbedding the image, so there was
nothing to do but to put up with it.
But, I digress. First, let me say there is no registry entry "Force
Access
Reporting to run slowly in design view", so it is not a "general
problem".
Second, let me say that it is not possible for us to even make a wild
guess about a problem unless we have some details of what data you
have,
how its laid out, what RecordSource query you're using, what you are
displaying in which controls, etc. Third, if you'll provide that
detail,
I'd wager _someone_ here will have a suggestion..
