RTF Export truncation

I could not find a resolution for this problem, but through trial and error
plus some newsgroup posts came up with a solution, so I thought I would post
it.

First, the problem. I had written an application in Access 97 on Windows 98.
Since the original app, the client upgraded OSes and Office versions to
where they are now on Windows XP and Office XP. The problems were noticed on
the latest platforms, but this may be a problem on other platforms as well.
The problem is essentially that fields in a report are arbitrarily cut off
when exporting to RTF. This export was working flawlessly under Access
97/Windows 98 and Access 2000/Windows 98.

The solution is essentially a combination of two bits of information found
elsewhere in the groups. The font and screen resolution (yeah, you read
correctly...screen resolution). The original font was MS Sans Serif and I
changed it to Microsoft Sans Serif, the screen resolution had to be above
800x600. It seemed that anything 1024x768 or above stopped cutting off the
text. I have no idea why screen resolution affected the exporting of a
report to RTF...I know Access somehow fits the print driver in there, but
screen resolution !??

I wish the problem only took that long to resolve. I tried multiple versions
of Access on fresh installs of Windows XP (Access 2K, 2K2, 2K3). I did not
try different patch levels becuase it happened on a vanilla install of
everything and was hapenning at the client site on completely patched
installs of WinXP and OfficeXP. It appears that Mircosoft changed/removed
the original font and maybe the substitute font was somehow dependent on the
screen resolution ?

I also tried expanding the fields, other fonts, different font sizes, and
most of the other obvious ways to resolve the problem.

Hope this saves someone some time.
