This is a huge mistake. Jet just isn't designed to run on anything
but a Microsoft file system. There are important locking and timing
issues that can't be guaranteed to work the same when accessed
through SAMBA on a non-Windows file system.
There are Windows XP Pro desktops in the office.
If you can use one of them as a server, that would be an OK place to
put the data file.
Get a wired network connection.
This is doable as the client has a wired network, but it kinda
defeats the point of the whole project.
The project was obviously planned without anyone involved who knew
anything at all about how Access/Jet works.
