Multiple users in a stand-alone environment

I have multiple users who need to utilize one access database, without
the opportunity of setting up a LAN. My predecessor utilized Access'
replication feature and as I'm reading and researching, I keep hearing
more and more about the "Front End/Back End" function of access. Is it
possible to split a database and replicate the front end in a
non-networked, stand-alone environment?
