I'm not so sure about that. I tried to implement indirect synchronization
using the service pack (or what you are calling the security update) and the
TSI Synchronizer Object without installing Replication Manager and I
couldn't get it to work. After digging for information I came to the
conclusion that the service pack is just that, a service pack. It's meant to
update some of the files used by Replication Manager including the jet
synchronizer itself. I was unable to get the TSI synchronizer object to
recognize the synchronizer until I installed Replication Manager.
Unfortunately, the TSI download for jet 4.0 doesn't contain the synchronizer
or any other supporting files like the version they released for jet 3.5. I
think that because TSI enabled us to do indirect synchronization with jet
3.5 without installing Replication Manager that we might be incorrectly
assuming that we can do the same with jet 4.0. I'd love for someone to prove
me wrong.
I've searched high and low for any information about how to get indirect
synchronization to work without installing Replication Manager and I can't
find any. Every article and every post I've found indicates that you still
need to install Replication Manager in order to be able to use the jet 4.0
synchronizer with the TSI Synchronizer Object or with JRO.
