Tips On Security & Replication

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

I recently set up a database that is hosted on an XP Pro machine and is
being replicated using indirect sync with several remote users. Since
IIS is running on the host and since the associated ports are open, I
am looking for tips on how to make the system secure. I can not close
the required HTTP & FTP ports, but to leave them open seems to be a
problem too. I know VPN is a solution, but I can not run VPN for other
reasons.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks much.
