How to handle conflicts?

If a child of a replica is disconnected from the network for
an extended period, say a week, it could be assumed that
when they reattach there will be a number of conflicts. How
are they handled?
If I were to add no conflict management code, what would
happen? Would Access inform them of found conflicts?
Would one child win silently and another lose? Do the
conflicts queue up somewhere awaiting resolution?
Thanks
