thanks Michael, good tip.

I tried it and the result is "Method not supported". I read your posting
reply to oliver, so no need to double answer the same question.

That enforces my suggestion that iis was somehow affected bei updates, so
some base-methods were turned off. So that is the point i have to leave this
newsgroup and enter the iis newsgroup (or does anybody here knows a good tip
to activate http put on an iis 5?)

Thank you all for your postings and help. It did not solve the problem, but
helped to recognise the reason for replication error.

p.s. Short correction...the mentioned http error 501 was a 502. my fault.
