hello everybody,

i ran into the same problem. after the latest updates our internet
syncronisation behaved the same...not working anymore. we nearly tried the
same oliver described but didn't get it work.

but there is one thing we figured out. after the newest patches (don't know
which one is responsible) iis is ignoring the PUT-command via http. we
analysed our weblog guess what we found. before the patches were installed
the log shows http response 200 and 201 for the upload of tempfiles and
execution of mstrai40.exe.
AFTER installation of the latest patches the PUT command via http (uploading
tmp and replicafiles) quit with http error 501 which means "no server" or
better " not implemanted on this server". that leads to the conclusion that
the latest updates shut down the PUT functionality via http and by the way
messing up the access replication.

if we would work with iis 6 it would be no problem, because it offers the
ability to setup rights for PUT, GET, POST and so on for http, but using iis
5 or 5.1 (like we do) you are totaly left alone. by this time we did not
find any artikel or registry entrie, which let us enable the PUT command via
http. we also tried URLScan 2.5, but as a frontier before iis execution it
is not usefull for this problem. openning PUT on http in URLScan passes
URLScan, but again fails at final iis execution (501 again).

by the way, uninstalling patches didn't bring replication back to live
again.

anybody a tip how to enable PUT command for http on iis 5 or 5.1 again? or
is there an enable patch?
i know...wrong newsgroup, but the base problem is the same: "internet
replication not working"

any comments and help are welcome
thomas

p.s. reading the other postings is interesting, but unfortunatly they didn't
point to a working solution for us.
