Now that I've reinstated the (previously disabled/hidden) Vista 'Language
Bar' and reviewed its associated Help, I've got a clearer picture on the
specifics of what you were trying to convey. One of the defined keycodes
there may indeed be at fault, so it's been removed. While I'm not sure why
MSAccess was the only session that exhibited the strange behavior when the
issue last surfaced, I do recall infrequent, but somewhat similar problems
with my Emacs editor, and the defined key sequence for switching languages
was very similar to defined editor macros that I use frequently.
I think that's likely fixed my problem - thanks for the help.

Can someone tell me what sequence of keystrokes I've inadvertently
entered
that now prevents me from typing double quotes in (zoomed) query entry
fields? Instead, the keystroke appears to be interpreted as initiation
of
some sort of 'extended character' entry sequence, requiring another few
keypresses before (nonsensical) characters finally appear.
I've gotten burned on this a few times now, and can't seem to find a
keyword
that brings up anything relevant in Help. Closing and reopening the
database
session clears the problem, but I'm not particularly impressed with
that
solution.
