The first thing that jumps out at me is: SR1??
I don't think that is the most up-to-date version of Access 2000.
Visiting the Windows/Microsoft/OfficeUpdate site(s) might not solve your
problem but it sure eliminates a huge piece of low hanging fruit from the
list of possibilities.

I have a situation with a number of corrupted mdb files when they are
opened
on a machine running Vista. If I also try and compact/repair I get a
message
"The Visual Basic for Applications project in the database is corrupt"
displays a number of times and then MsAccess.exe hangs with AppHangB1
Message.
I seem to have lost a number of field values in a number of tables.
Are there any issues with This Access version on Vista? (9.0.3821 SR-1)
Are there any tools (other than Compact/Repair within Access) that can
pull
mdb file together again?
.
