Ho harm no foul, dawnab. Quite honestly I didn't realize you were working on an assignment. You were mixing up some terminology so my offering was meant to steer you, clarify your question and provide solutions for what I perceived to be the two most likely scenarios.

There are a lot of great books... I think "SQL Queries for Mere Mortals" is another good one. Let it be said too there are innumerable resources in this and related newsgroups as well.
