Re: Jet engine stopped

1. Uncheck the boxes under:
Tools | Options | General | Name AutoCorrect
Explanation of why:
http://allenbrowne.com/bug-03.html

2. Compact the database to get rid of this junk:
Tools | Database Utilities | Compact

3. Try the queries again, while no other tables, queries, forms, or reports
are open.

If it still fails, go to:
http://support.microsoft.com/gp/sp
and check that you have the latest service packs for both:
- Office 2000
- JET 4.

Hello:

I have a few queries in Access 2000. Simple ones are like 1) get the Max
date and 2)the Min date.

The problem is: eg, as I ran the Max date query, a dialogue box came up
with
the info "The Microsoft jet database engine stopped the process because
you
and another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time."

The part I don't understand is:The queries worked before and I am the only
user. Also the mdb resides in the local drive. How would the jet engine
mistaken for more users.

Thank you in advance for your help and explanation. Best regards.
