But to be fair to all the pro MVPs and developers here, most of them
have forgotten more about Access than I know.

As to the particular question I answered on this thread, just to let
you know, having the checkbox accidentally get set to show system
objects happens quite a bit. The question gets asked frequently on
several of the access newsgroups.
