Error opening database

I get the following message when trying to open a database:
"The MicroSoft Jet database engine stopped the process
because you and another user are attempting to change the
same data at the same time."

This is my own database, so I know no one else is trying
to use it at the same time. Is there anything I can do to
get past this.

I made a copy of the database but the same thing happens.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for
the help.
