Re: Database Documenter

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Knowing that you got your CD at Staples means I am SURE it is not the CD.

Nothing should have happened because you Reinstalled/Repaired your
installation so it would put those wizards back. I want to say corruption
but it seems to rare that it would effect all THREE databases at the same
time.

Let's try a decompile, this is always my second to last resort... If you
are unsure how to decompile, please see:
http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/decompile.htm about half way down the page.
Do NOT forget to make a back-up!

In the beginning, it was only a documenter problem on all three databases,
but now I can access the two databases, but the main database that I use
every day... I cannot access at all. I have a backup from 12/12/08 that I
can access, but that is it. All the changes to my second database is
there,
and I can still access Northwind, but not my main database.....it has
totally
vanished or is in that big black hole. I purchased my program at Staples.
Could something happen when I deleted the ACCWIZ.....the other day? By
the
way, I only have one good nerve left and ACCESS is getting on it.
Thanks
Marilyn

Can you get to anything else? I do not THINK it is the CD BUT it could
be a
network issue or harddrive issue but still strange it was only the
Documentor that was misbehaving! I have searched the net, Microsoft and
newsgroups and can find nothing even close to this issue but not giving
up... I may be bald but not giving up!

Also, where did you purchase the CD? If it was a store, such as Office
Max,
or it came preloaded, then I would say for SURE nothing wrong with the
CD.

I have "lost" my entire database. Not only does the Documenter not
work, I
cannot access my database. Is there a possiblity of a hard drive
problem
or
could my CD have a problem? I removed the Access 2007 program from my
computer and reinstalled it. I originally had three databases that I
worked
with...The one I "lost", a different company database, and Northwinds
Sample
database. Is there a website for Microsoft that I can download Access
instead
of using my CD I purchased?
Thanks again for all your help.

Yes, I do. I'm on a network printer and two of us share the printer.
My
connection is wireless.

doesn't
work.

I think its ACWZDAT12.ACCDU. All the wizards are located
in
C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Office 2007\Office12\ACCWIZ, path might be
slightly
different depending on if you choose a custom path to load
the
program.
I
would rename it then do the repair.

Yes, I did the repair. I am using Access 2007.

Marilyn,

I am going to Ass-U-Me you also tried to Repair the
installation.
It
sounds
like the wizard somehow became corrupt. I would find
the
wizard
file,
rename and then reinstall. If you are unsure of the
name
of
the
wizard,
post back with what version of Access you are using and
I
will
tell
you
the
name of the wizard.

I was using the Database Documenter this a.m. When
I
tried
using
it
later,
I
received the following message:
"The wizard you've requested is not installed
or
is
in a
bad
state.
Please install or reinstall the wizard." What
does
this
mean
and
what
am
I
supposed to do?
Thanks in advance for any help someone can give
me.
